While typically the formula will involve a guest gradually learning that the Addams are creepy and kooky, they keep the situational irony with Dr. Black going throughout. Black mistakes Pugsley's preferred behaviors as unpreferred and vice-versa, but by failing what he sets out to do, actually succeeds in what the Addams family is looking to accomplish. The misunderstanding is stretched almost to breaking point, but it never results in the typical Addams trope of the visitor being horrified by the Addams family and scoffing angrily. Beautifully executed, modern comedy could take a lesson.

In the first five minutes I can already tell you what's wrong: 1. Terrible direction 2. Over-the-top camera work 3. Bad acting 4. Bad writing 5. Horrendous effects 6.
